January
1st 2006: Exciting young Australian golfing prodigy, Queenslander
Jason Day wins The Dunes Medal (by 1 stroke) held at The Dunes Golf
Links, at
Rye, Victoria. Eighteen year old amateur Jason produced some very exciting
golf to win one of Australia's top amateur events
finishing at 12 under (276). Second place went to Rick Kulacz (277)
and third to Andrew Martin (278). Peter Croker commented after the
event that
he had
watched
Greg Norman develop
into
a world
champion
and "I
think that Jason Day could be even better (than Greg Norman)".
